Look after your mobile
We've put together some useful do's and don'ts, to help keep you and your mobile safe.
Do's
- Do use a protective case. This protects your mobile from accidental damage and dust that can damage your circuits
- Do use your mobile's security lock code or PIN number. This will protect your phone and its contents
- Do use your mobile's phone book to store the name and number of someone who should be contacted in case of emergency. Put the letters ICE in front of their name. ICE stands for 'In Case of Emergency'. Emergency services will look for your ICE number if you're involved in an accident
Don'ts
- Don't charge your mobile too often or for too long. You can destroy your battery and melt internal components
- Don't keep your mobile in view when you're out, conceal it in your pocket or bag
- Don't use your mobile while driving. Even if you're using a hand's free kit, tell the caller you will phone them back

National Mobile Phone Register
“Immobilise” is an ownership register on which we record your mobile details – then if it's lost or stolen, we raise the alert and have it added to the stolen property database immediately.
