What does Card Protection cover me for?

To start with, you're insured against fraudulent use of your missing cards even before you notify us of your loss, as well as afterwards. (Most banks only cover fraudulent card use after you have notified them). And no matter where you are, you can call us free from anywhere in the world. Not only will we cancel your cards, but we'll order replacements too. There's so much you're covered for that we suggest you take a look at the complete list of benefits. Your policy will automatically renew each year for as long as you wish to stay protected - so you'll never be without cover.

Why should I register my cards after I take out CPP Card Protection?

It takes away the pain of replacing your cards yourself. We are here to help and can quickly cancel your cards and order replacements if they go missing, because we already have all the details we need. We will also place a protective registration warning with CIFAS, the UK's Fraud Prevention Service, which means that extra security checks will be carried out in future before credit is granted in your name.

You can register your passport and driving licence details too. If either document goes missing, we can give you the information you need - such as your passport or driving licence number - to make replacing them quicker and easier.

What are the benefits of paying by Direct Debit?

Imagine losing the cards in your wallet or handbag, only to realise your cover had lapsed? Paying by Direct Debit means you'll always have the reassurance of being covered and never have to think about when your next payment is due.

What if I'm abroad and my handbag or wallet goes missing?

Call us from wherever you are and we'll sort things out for you. You'll need to call us within 24 hours of discovering your cards are lost or stolen.You're covered against fraudulent use of your cards, the loss of cash, and if that amount isn't enough, we can send you a cash advance. We can even provide cash advances to pay your hotel bill and replace travel tickets. These will depend on your credit status and will be repayable within 28 days.

How easy is to make a claim?

Very easy. Your first step is to call us on 0808 100 22 55 (or +44 1904 544 622 from abroad) and report the loss or theft. Then keep all of your original receipts. Fill in a claim form, which we'll send you, and pop it back in the post along with all the documents that we ask you for. That's it. We aim to process all claims within 14 days.

Who provides my policy?

Your policy is provided by Card Protection Plan Limited (a member of the CPP group of companies). CPP will cover and undertake all aspects of policy administration, including the collection of payments and claims processing, as agent for the underwriter, ACE European Group Limited.

How do I renew my policy?

You will be automatically contacted one month before your policy expires.  Your policy will automatically renew each year for as long as you wish to stay protected - so you'll never be without cover.  If you would like to talk to us about your options at renewal, please call our customer services team on 0844 848 5281.*

How do I make a complaint?

If at any time you have a problem with your policy, please call us on 0844 848 5281* or email us via our Contact us form. Alternatively you can write to the Complaints Manager at:

We will do our best to answer your query within five working days. If no reply has been sent by then, you will be sent an acknowledgement letter to keep you informed of progress.

Please note that the Ombudsman will not be able to help unless you have first taken your complaint to CPP and your subsequent appeal is made within six months of our final reply.

How do I cancel my policy?

If you need to cancel your policy, please call us on 0844 848 5281*.

Remember that you have a right to cancel your contracts. If you decide to cancel within 14 days of your start date or renewal date, your contracts will be cancelled immediately and any payment you have made refunded. Please note that if you choose to cancel your contracts outside of the cooling off periods shown above, you will not be entitled to a refund.
